This policy applies to Cineaste Auteur subscriptions. We aim to be fair and transparent. If you have a billing issue, email [email protected] and we will sort it out.
Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription. You will not be charged again. Auteur access continues until the end of the current paid period, then your account reverts to Standard — your data, reviews, and lists are never deleted.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have the statutory right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase — no questions asked. Email [email protected] with "Cooling-off withdrawal" within 14 days of purchase. We will refund your original payment method within 14 days. If you have already actively used Auteur features during the 14-day window, we may deduct a proportional amount for service already provided and will explain any deduction before processing.
Outside the statutory cooling-off window, charges are non-refundable except in these cases:
Charged twice for the same period — refunded immediately.
Platform unavailable for 48+ consecutive hours — pro-rated credit or refund on request.
Incorrect amount charged due to our error — corrected and refunded in full.
Serious illness or other exceptional circumstances — reviewed case-by-case. Email us, we will do our best.
Annual subscriptions are charged upfront. If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, access continues until the year ends — no partial refund for unused months. Within 14 days, the cooling-off rules above apply.

We never want you to feel stuck paying for something that is not working for you. If you are unhappy, reach out — we would rather fix the problem than lose you.
